Only a small area and not a massive challenge but the budget was equally small. All this lady
wanted was somewhere nice to sit out in the sun with a few friends and relatives but the small
area of garden was completely overgrown. First job was to clear the ground and move the
existing washing line post a few feet to the left as it was plumb in the centre of the area she
wanted to use for entertaining. The fence along the back was not hers but was overgrown with
and held together by Ivy, which meant it was neither practical nor cost effective to replace so
instead we covered it with trellis panels that allowed some of the greenery behind to show
through. Next we edged half the plot with treated timber battens then laid huge reclaimed
paving slabs to create a patio area and infilled the spaces with gravel. Simple but effective.
The remaining half of the plot is a possible future project - funds permitting - but until then
our client is happy to attempt to grow some veg on it instead.
